ASCTA welcomes SYEP Participants

The leading telecommunication company in American Samoa, ASCTA has welcomed 51 SYEP participants who will make ASCTA their place of work for the next 8 weeks.

At a brief ceremony held at its Headquarter in Tafuna today ASTCA CEO Chuck Leota

delivered the opening remarks to kick off the orientation followed by Department heads who shared a little about their interest and areas of responsibilities.

“ASTCA is proud to be a part of the 2022 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) initiative as we do each year. We have gained many of our ASTCA employees through this program who have become valuable assets at ASTCA! And we look forward to these participants as we take them under our wings, and mentor them for the next 8 weeks to find potential talent and skill that can contribute to ASTCA's growth", said Leota

The participants were then given the opportunity to choose their area of interest based on their study and career paths.

A total of 28 chose the Engineering Department, 12 in the Marketing and Customer Service Department, and 11 chose the Retail and Corporate Sales Department. They were reminded of this year's theme with plenty of words of encouragement to empower them as future leaders of American Samoa.
