Supplies for Aunuu residents

By: Tosimaeʻa Tupua

Boxes of dry foods, frozen meat and water are on their way to Aunuu for families affected by king tides and strong winds on Thursday.

Director of Search and Rescue, Faamasino U. Galoia told KVZK News families in Aunuu are low on water and food supplies so the faster we get to them the better. KVZK camera man Sam Leota was at the wharf in Auasi this afternoon when supplies of water, food and other items started to arrive at Auasi from the Department of Education's school lunch program.

Deputy Director of Homeland Security Marvis Vaeaga’e said families in Aunuu have been asked to send only one family member to Auasi wharf to collect their rations.

The American Samoa Power Authority ASPA confirmed that 55 gallon diesel fuel drums, 21 in total, have arrived in Aunuu.
