CAP Assistance – DHR Staff in Manua.

Six staff members of the Department of Human Resources are in Manua this week to speak with qualified workers whose hours off work were affected by furlough or reduced hours of employment due to the public health emergency declaration on February 22nd this year.

The Cash Assistance Program under the American Rescue Plan Act will cover the period from February 22 through April 2022. The team started their work in Fitiuta and then onward to Tau, Faleasao, Ofu and Olosega. There, they will meet with business owners, private motel employees and those working in shops in Manua.


The CAP program will provide up to $240 per week for qualified workers for those who were furloughed due to the Public Health Emergency declaration on February 22. The Department of Human Resources is administering the program and provides details for the application process, eligibility criteria, and the distribution plan.
