Cash Assistance Applications open for non profit employees

Employees of nonprofit organizations who were affected by furlough or reduced hours of employment can now apply for cash assistance from the Department of Human Resources. The program will provide up to $240.00 per week for qualified workers for the period that they were furloughed due to the Public Health Emergency Declaration on February 22, 2022
The Cash Assistance Programs (CAP) for impacted workers in non profit organizations is funded by the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and will cover the period from February 22, 2022, through April 18, 2022.
“ The cash assistance will urgently aid in the immediate needs of eligible workers that have been affected by furlough or reduced hours of employment. It will provide up to $240.00 per week for qualified workers for the period that they were furloughed due to the Public Health Emergency Declaration”. said Vanessa Simanu.
The staff of the Department of Human Resources who are administering the program were at Suigaula this morning to officially launch the program and provide details for the application process, eligibility criteria, and the distribution plan. Ms Simanu told KVZK News, help is on the way for those who struggled to make ends meet during the outbreak. This is part of the government’s efforts to help our people
