The American Samoa Government has kicked off Cybersecurity Awareness Month today, following a proclamation by Acting Governor Fainuulelei Falefatu Alailima Utu designating October as a time for the public and private sectors to work together to continue raising awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and equip the American samoa people with the resources needed to be safer and more secure online. The American Samoa Government Technology Office in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security will focus on what it means to Stop, Think Connect by highlighting the actions that all Americans can take to raise the baseline for cybersecurity across the country.

Every year since 2003 October has been recognized as Cyber Security Awareness Month . This effort was brought to life through a collaboration between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Cyber Security Alliance. CyberSecurity Awareness Month was created to ensure that every individual stays safe and secure online. Cybersecurity Awareness Month — celebrated every October — is a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online
