David Iosefa charged in drug case

David Iosefa was taken into the custody of Police this week, in relation to a drug raid last November in Pago Pago.

The defendant is held on bail of $5,000 on a single count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a felony charge punishable between five to 10 years and or a fine between $5,000 to $20,000.

According to the government’s case, Police executed a search warrant at the residence of Semi Aiava.

This drug raid landed eight people in Police custody, including the defendant. The co-defendant's case in this matter is pending in court.

However, it is unclear why the defendant had just appeared in the District Court on Wednesday.

During the raid, four men were caught near the resident including the defendant. Court affidavit says Iosefa was questioned regarding a cut-up straw found by Police, and verbally stated that he goes to Aiava’s residence to play darts and smoke meth.

Iosefa told Police that he got the cut-up straw from one of the co-defendants in this case.
