Free flu shots vaccine available at all DOH clinics

Due to the increasing number of flu cases reported in the territory, the Department of Health has stepped up its flu shot vaccination campaign.

According to the DOH, the best line of defense is getting vaccinated and the flu shots are free and are being offered at all Health clinics.

All that is required to get your flu shot is to bring your vaccination card and a valid ID. Everyone from ages 6 months and up is encouraged to get their yearly flu shot.

The WHO says that annual influenza vaccination is recommended for everyone age 6 months and older as the best way to prevent influenza (flu) and related complications.

Flu vaccines are updated annually to protect against the influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming season.

Even in cases when vaccination does not prevent infection, it can reduce the severity of disease and prevent serious flu-related complications, including hospitalization and death.

If you have any questions, please call the Department of Health’s information center at 219.
