Two inmates who escaped the Tafuna Correctional Facility are back in custody. Wayne Gasolo and Martine Sega escaped on Tuesday.
However, Gasolo was apprehended and returned to the jail, while Sega walked back into the TCF yesterday.
This is according to Chief of Police Pouu’amea Tuaolo Supapo. She said they are investigating how these two inmates escaped from the TCF.
Gasolo is serving a drug conviction, while Sega is serving a seven-year sentence since 2019 over the assault of the mother of his son.
Nearly five inmates have been charged for escaping from the TCF in six months.
Last week Falaniko Fetoa'i was charged with one count of escaping from confinement, a felony charge.
Police acted on a tip and found him hiding inside his wife’s vehicle. He told the Police that he was fixing a car that belonged to a correction officer.
