Gov meetings in Hawaii
Governor Lemanu P. S. Mauga will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with a Job Corp in Hawaii next week.
This is part of his schedule in Hawaii.
He is also scheduled to meet with Hawaii Airlines President Peter Ingram and John Snook, Chief Operating Office at the Airlines Headquarters.
KVZK has been told the meeting has to do with proposed amendments to the time and flight days.
The Job Corp will provide opportunities with free career training to gain the skills and tools required for a successful career.
Job Corps is Hawaii’s premiere residential job training program.
Thousands of underserved young people enroll in the program yearly to launch a new career in various fields, including healthcare, automotive, construction, transportation, and information technology.
More than 80% of all graduates in Hawaii find meaningful employment, enroll in higher education, or join the military within six months of graduation.
Also, Senate President Tuaolo Manaia Fruean has officially visited the American Samoa Government office in Hawai’i for the first time.
Tuaolo is on his way to the American Samoa Government Retirement Board meeting in the mainland.
