Gov meets with volleyball teams representing Am. Samoa at Tri-Nation tournament

Governor Lemanu P. S. Mauga hosted a dinner for the American Samoa (AS) Volleyball Teams, both Men and Women on May 31st, 2023 at the Lava Hotel Restaurant, Samoa.

Both teams played in the Tri-Nation Volleyball tournament with the National Teams of New Zealand, and Samoa in the previous week.

The AS Women’s team took the Gold Medal for their division, and the Men’s team took the Bronze.

Governor Lemanu congratulated the young adults on their achievements:

“Congratulations! I speak on behalf of our leaders to commend you on a job well done. Thank you for representing American Samoa with your hearts.

We encourage you to play in these tournaments to fellowship and meet more people. It’s not all about winning, learn to enjoy the experience. I would also like to congratulate the coaches for all of their hard work.”

The American Samoa Volleyball Association coaches presented Governor Lemanu with a Gold Medal, an autographed volleyball, and a team uniform as a token of their appreciation.

The Men and Women’s teams, together with the Queens’ teams are currently playing in the Samoa Independence Tournament.
