Gov met Philippines Consul General over PH migrant workers in the territory
Consul General of the Philippines Emil T has been assured by the American Samoa Government of its commitment to safeguarding the rights and well-being of Philippines migrant workers in the territory.

The statement cited the Governor's letter sent to Secretary Susan Ople on April 24 2023, emphasizing the position that American Samoa “apply the principles and guidelines of the Fair Labor Standards Act to all employees within the territory, just as it is done within the United States.
"It goes without saying that these labor standards and protections include application to the employment of foreign workers.”
