Governor Lemanu inspects development projects

Governor Lemanu Inspect major projects Governor Lemanu P. S Mauga says development projects initiated during his tenure will remain unparalleled for years to come. Among the projects the governor visited are Tula’s new sea wall work in progress and the Lion’s Park development.

Speaking about the Auasi road work, Lemanu said, “The improved road projects will greatly decongest road traffic,” he added.

Lemanu later inspected the Laulii Elementary School to witness demolition of its old building to make way for new buildings under construction. He also inspected Fagaitua High School’s new two story buildings near completion time for the new school year.

The Governor, who interacted with members of the public as he inspected the projects, said more projects have already been earmarked in the current financial year.

Among those who accompanied the governor were Director of Education Talauega Dr Samasoni Asaeli, Director of Public Works Faleosina Voight and Chief Procurement Officer Tialemasunu Dr Mikaele Etuale.

Also present were senior staff of the Governor’s office.

Projects inspected:

· Early Childhood Education Building in Tafuna.

· Lupelele/Golf Course Access Road.

· Lupelele Elementary School’s two story building and two story cafeteria and kitchen building currently under construction.

· Leone Midkiff’s new two story building.

· Samoana High School new administration building and new JROTC classrooms.

· Pago Pago Coleman Elementary’s double two story buildings under construction.

· Laulii Elementary School’s new buildings under construction.

· Fagaitua High School’s new two story buildings. Aoa’s new two story building is in progress.

· Auasi road and sidewalk work in progress.

· Tula’s new sea wall work is in progress.

· Lion’s Park.

“For our Territory to develop, the community needs to develop. It is the most common basic unit of society after the family and when there is development in the community, there is a general improvement in a nation’s economy’, said Lemanu. He continued, “The importance of an education cannot be undermined, mostly because it shapes the future of all the members of our community. Funds and resources are brought together for building of schools and other types of educational centers to equip children with the tools needed to succeed in future”. Governor Lemanu and his team conduct weekly visits to inspect projects all over the Territory.
