This was confirmed in a letter addressed to the Governor sent on Monday by Acting Senate President Malaepule Saena Moliga.
He said the Legislature of American Samoa would conduct a Legislative Budget Hearing review of the American Samoa Government Proposed final Budget for the fiscal year.
Due to time constraints, the House and Senate Budget & Appropriations Committee have decided to conduct budget hearings in a Joint session to speed up the review process for the Final Budget.
The Senate, therefore, requests that during the Budget Hearings. all Department Directors be made available to appear before the Legislature to assist with the review process of the American Samoa Government 2024 financial plan.
The Committee will not accept any testimony from anyone other than the Director. The Authorities are asked to provide the Profit and Loss Statement before the scheduled budget hearings.
