Man caught on camera stealing cigarettes

Police are on the hunt for a man who entered a store in Vaitogi and ran off with cigarettes last night.

Deputy Commissioner Terri Letuli told KVZK News the Police were called to the store around 8:00 pm last night regarding a man who stole cigarettes from a store in the village.

Images from the store's security camera now widely shared on Facebook shows the alleged thief entered the store, went straight to where the packets of cigarettes are stacked, grabbed it and took off on foot.

The owner of the store can be seen in the images running after the thief to try and stop him.

Deputy Commissioner Letuli told KVZK the thief needs to be caught and held accountable for his criminal actions. It is unclear if the Police were able to make an arrest in this case.
