Moment of silence observed in Senate, honoring life service of Manu'a Senator
This morning, a moment of silence was observed in the Senate and the House over the death of Senator Tauiliili Paopao Lauifi of Fitiuta, Manu’a, who passed away Sunday morning at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu.
He was 78.
This is his first term in office as Senator. Tauliiliili also served on the board of higher education and was President of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard Association of American Samoa.
Senator Tauiliili a devout member of the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa of Fitiuta & Iliili, serves as a Deacon.
He is also a member of the Village Council of Fitiuta. He is survived by his wife and children.
