Police in Tafuna are investigating 6 reported break-ins and an attempted break-in that occurred this week in Tafuna, Ottoville, Happy Valley, Petesa, Fagaima and Nu’uuli.

The incidents, in which a 23 year old man broke into homes and stores and stole valuable items including cash, are being treated as linked.

Reports from Police confirmed houses in Tafuna, Ottoville and Happy Valley were broken into overnight.

Speaking to KVZK News today, Deputy Commissioner Terry Letuli said a dedicated team has been set up to carry out an extensive investigation and members of the public have been urged to keep an eye out for suspicious activity and vehicles.

“I’d like to reassure our communities that these break-ins are being thoroughly investigated and we continue to appeal for any witnesses to come forward. Local officers have been carrying out dedicated patrols throughout the affected areas”, said Letuli.

“If you believe you have any information or witnessed anything suspicious, then please speak to the police. “Any detail, no matter how small, could help with our investigation. Likewise, if you have private CCTV footage that shows anything suspicious, that could also assist with our enquiries, said Letuli.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tafuna Police Substation on 911
