South Seas Broadcasting Manager/staff finalists on upcoming radio awards
South Seas Broadcasting General Manager Joey Cummings has been listed as a nominee to receive the most prestigious award in the radio industry: The Marconi.
Cummings was named as a finalist for “Legendary General Manager of The Year” amongst thousands of nominees from other radio stations across the U.S. Cummings said the emergency coverage during cyclones, pandemics, and tsunamis, community outreach interviews, support of civic organizations and veteran news team is what made this nomination possible.
The recognition humbles him, and he has been blessed with a great team of employees who collectively work together to create unique, localized content for the people of American Samoa, said Cummings.
In addition, the Samoan Sunrise show with John Raynar and Keziah Sagapolutele Atofau has also been listed as top 5 Finalist as Small Market Personalities of the year.
This is the second honor for John Raynar, also named in 2021.
The winners will be announced in October at the annual award show, hosted by the National Association of Broadcasters in New York City
