Updated: Oct 17
The LBJ hospital management on Monday announced two Samoan doctors have completed their medical studies at the University of Fiji School of Medicine.
The hospital's Chief Executive Officer, Dr Akapusi Ledua, said Dr. Nerisa Faumuina and Dr. Mary Matai’a will graduate with their Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery after six years of undergoing medical courses.
They were scholarship students in a program initiated by the Governor’s office in collaboration with the LBJ hospital.
The intern physicians said the challenge was being away from families, but they considered the motivation behind the studies to return home to serve the community at the LBJ hospital.
